EXHILARATING PERFORMANCE

Whatever the purpose – be it touring, towing or trekking, without a doubt, the Fortuner’s incredible performance can get it done. The more powerful 2.8𝓁 turbodiesel engine now produces a prodigious 150 kW of power between 3 000-3 400 r/min and 500 Nm of torque between 1 600-2 800 r/min. 2.8𝓁 models are exclusively available with a six-speed automatic paddle-shift transmission. The 2.4𝓁 engine develops 110 kW of power at 3 400 r/min and 400 Nm of torque between 1 600-2 000 r/min, available in either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The Fortuner experience is about always staying in control, providing peace of mind and prioritising the safety of your loved ones. The new flagship Fortuner VX sports Toyota’s world-class Safety Sense package (TSS), which comprises interventions such as a Pre-Crash System (Brake Synchronised), Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive High-Speed Cruise Control. In addition, the Fortuner takes driving awareness a step further with features that are unique to some of the SUVs in the range. The VX models now come with the exclusively installed Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), and a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) to further enhance your driving safety.

PERFECT ASSISTANCE

Convenience such as front and rear Park Distance Control, reverse camera and Push Start is unquestionable in the Fortuner. The Park Distance Control sensors come standard on all models, the 8.8” display doubles as a reverse camera, perfect for those tight corners, and the Push Start is a keyless ignition system bringing ultimate convenience to drivers.

Driver Command Centre

The driver command centre is an all-new affair that is brightly trimmed with a metallic coating and opulent satin finishes. The metallic blue* dials are also newly-designed and elegantly framed by ‘satin’-plated rings. The Multi-Information Display is a high-resolution TFT unit with correspondingly simple, easy-to-read graphics and provides the driver with key vehicle information such as digital speed display, the chosen driving mode (ECO or SPORT), whether the electrically* operated tailgate is locked or not; and information from the front and rear park distance control sensors, which are installed as standard for the entire range.

Stylish Interior

Of course, heading to the bush for an offline experience doesn’t mean you have to go out of style. In fact, to underline its executive status, the new and spacious Fortuner features a stylishly crafted black interior and matching black partial leather seats. Enjoy electrically* adjustable driver and front passenger seats for height and recline, that includes heating in the VX models. And further convenience is added through the inclusion of automatic dual-zone* air conditioning.

7 Seater

Being a generously proportioned seven-seater, practicality comes standard, with access from the second to the third row of seats made easy with a one-touch mechanism. There are cupholders and ISOFIX child seat anchors on both sides of the second row; and seats from the third row fold up and anchor horizontally to allow for more stowage space in the load area of the vehicle, which is measured at a convenient 898 millimetres above the ground for effortless loading and unloading.

Infotainment System

The Fortuner’s technological dexterity continues with the infotainment system, which has been upgraded to an 8” touch screen unit which comprises Bluetooth and USB compatibility and is linked to 11 JBL* speakers. The screen also doubles as the display monitor for the vehicle’s reverse camera.. The multimedia system is also linkable to smart devices through the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. When connected via USB, both of these interfaces display the screen of the smartphone on the infotainment screen and link the phone’s audio output to the vehicle’s speakers. In 2.8ℓ models, the electrochromatic rear view mirror has an autodimming function to reduce glare during night-time driving. Not just smart, but safe too: through the use of steering wheelmounted controls and Bluetooth phone pairing, several of the Fortuner’s driving functions can be safely operated without the driver moving their hands from the steering wheel or taking their eyes off the road.
